Position summary:

The role will be responsible for implementing and managing field-based reimbursement and health economics activities for AVITA Medical’s portfolio. This position will support AVITA’s sales teams and customers serving as an expert on all matters related to coverage, reimbursement, coding, and health economics for AVITA’s products in the U.S. market.

duties and responsibilities:

- Act as the main point of contact for the sales team and customers regarding coverage, reimbursement, coding, and health economics related to AVITA’s product portfolio.
- Deliver support and training on reimbursement and health economics to the AVITA sales team and key external partners (such as hospitals, clinicians, investigator sites, and professional societies) when needed.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders on health economics and reimbursement topics.
- Foster strong customer relationships to improve reimbursement outcomes and build support for AVITA Medical among payer groups.
- Establish connections with decision-makers in government, physician circles, hospitals, and third-party payer organizations.
- Monitor trends in coding, coverage, and reimbursement, incorporating these insights and feedback into AVITA’s strategic business planning processes.
- Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high-quality work.
- Other duties/projects as assigned.
special knowledge / skills:
-
- Strong understanding of the U.S. healthcare system, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer policies.
- Knowledgeable in outpatient and inpatient coding (APC, MS-DRG, ICD-10), physician coding (CPT, HCPCS), Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer issues.
- Extensive knowledge of reimbursement across all sites of service including physician office reimbursement, hospital outpatient, inpatient facility, and ambulatory surgical centers.
- Ability to effectively communicate and translate complex economic and reimbursement concepts into understandable and actionable information to AVITA Medical’s team, leaders, and customers.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonal.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with customer groups and clinical staff.
- Ability to support fast paced sales force including sales leadership.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and agility, adept at executing effective reimbursement strategies and navigating healthcare market complexities.
- Demonstrated proficiency using Salesforce, Excel, Power Point, and Word applications.

- Requires at least 7-10 years of proven success in reimbursement and health economics.
- Must have prior experience in a medical device company, preferably with involvement in emerging, implantable medical device technologies.

BA or BS required, a major in business, healthcare, or economics related field preferred.
travel expectations

Ability to travel – up to 60%.
