Medical Affairs Lead – Dermatology
Primary Function
The Dermatology Lead – Medical Affairs (Derm – Lead) is a key contributor to the company’s clinical and commercial development with responsibility for establishing, developing, and maintaining relationships with prominent experts in the therapeutic areas where AVITA Medical skin regeneration products are sold.
The Derm – Lead will work with AVITA’s customers, internal stakeholders, outside vendors, and clinical staff on clinical research programs in support of pre-market and post-market initiatives. Additionally, the Derm – Lead will be responsible for building awareness of AVITA products and clinical outcomes, developing KOLs, preparing educational materials, and delivering educational programs within the dermatological space. The Derm – Lead will also be responsible for collaborating with KOLs on research and education initiatives as well as overseeing MSL team in the dermatology space.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Serve as subject matter expert for repigmentation diseases and other dermatological conditions
- Develop education tools for internal and external training programs
- Build strategy for medical communications including conference abstract submissions and presentations
- Lead publication planning and journal manuscript submissions
- Medical writing as required
- Effectively deliver scientific and clinical data
- Interface with external experts and health care professionals at major dermatology conferences, advisory boards, and other external meetings
- Oversee MSL – Derm Team.
- Work collaboratively with cross functional team in lifecycle management, competitive intel, & business development opportunities.
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Understanding of current clinical and scientific trends in dermatological space, pigmentation disorders, and dermatological surgical procedures and techniques
- KOL development and engagement in dermatology
- Understanding of clinical trial design, protocol development, regulatory pathways, and medical communication strategy
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft word and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- MSL strategy and oversight
Experience
- 5+ years in medical affairs role
- Team leadership
- Medical writing
- Experience with new product launch
- Publication planning, conference strategy
- KOL development
- Interpretation and dissemination of pre-clinical and clinical data
Education/Training
- Advanced degree in medical field, life sciences, or public health
- Experience in dermatological diseases preferred
Travel Expectations
- Up to 75% travel may be required for KOL development, conference attendance, and in-person corporate meetings
