Buyer / Planner

AVITA Medical is looking for a Buyer/Planner to join our Supply Chain team. We want someone who is a collaborative team player, hardworking, dedicated, open-minded, humble, and enthusiastic —ready and eager to learn every part of the buying and planning process.
- Basic Job Function/Position Responsibilities:
- Process purchase requisitions as they are received: verify requisition information, order details, delivery timeline, and costing. Seek input from requestor and edit and clarify order details as needed.
- Negotiates, schedules, purchases, tracks, and expedites direct and indirect materials in support of all departments
- Analyzes/maintains/reconciles purchases and purchase reports to ensure delivery timelines and that purchase requirements are met; communicated to management.
- Communicates cross-functionally with clear accountability for results and ensures the quality, cost, and delivery of products are consistently met
- Leads issue resolution and problem solving
- Take an active continuous improvement role in product and process improvement activities
- Conduct supplier market research and supports risk assessment activity; performs spend analysis based on supply risk and relative spending
- Create and issue requests for proposal and quotation, reviews responses, and makes recommendations for supplier selection
- Monitor and validate replenishment planning systems to manage lead-time and optimize supply position throughout the entire Supply Chain both at finished goods and key component level
- Maintain a repeatable and reliable process cognizant of cost and risk implications
- Follow all quality procedures for processing purchase returns; shipping, documenting, investigating, correcting and reporting of non-conformance product
- Work closely with the warehouse team providing knowledge and support for maintaining accurate and reconcilable purchase receipts
- Assist with the management of purchasing process according to standard procedures and regulatory/legal requirements, providing guidance and solutions to uphold company guidelines
- Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Direct interface with suppliers in support of our Regenerative Products
- Acting as a liaison with suppliers to resolve issues which would impact product delivery and quality
- Support expansion of capable-to-promise visibility and planning capability of critical and secondary suppliers
- Assist in managing master data pertinent to replenishment planning and product flow
- Daily monitoring of purchase status, stock in transit and risk issues; inform management of issues
- Other duties as assigned
- Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Adept in establishing and documenting processes and leveraging systems to efficiently plan in a growth-oriented environment in a Microsoft Dynamics ERP system
- Prior experience with ERP systems and ERP purchasing and inventory replenishment planning
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products; experience with Microsoft Dynamics preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to communicate across all levels and areas of the company and with suppliers
- Detail-oriented
- Bachelor’s Degree from accredited higher learning institution
- Ability to make decisions and work independently
- Required Experience:
- 5 years’ experience in a Supply Chain Procurement role
- Medical device, biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience and familiarity with working in a regulated environment
- Qualifications/Special Training:
- Bachelors or equivalent experience required
- Supply Chain Certifications are preferred (APICS CPIM or CSCP)
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification and/or Lean Certification is preferred
