The AVITA Medical leadership team is comprised of experienced industry executives who bring a critical set of skills to the organization to support long-term growth.
Chief Executive Officer
Appointed as Chief Executive Officer of AVITA Medical in September 2022 after serving on the Board since June 2021, Mr. Corbett brings extensive experience, including nearly 40 years of leadership experience in the medical device field, most recently, as CEO of CathWorks Ltd., a software-based medical technology company. Mr. Corbett has extensive global commercial and operating experience, serving as an expatriate General Manager of Baxter Japan and later as General Manager and President of Scimed Life Systems Inc. and Boston Scientific International respectively. During his career he has served as CEO of 3 publicly listed companies; Microtherapeutics Inc (MTIX), ev3 Inc (evvv), Alphatec Spine (ATEC). Mr. Corbett has also led two privately funded companies as CEO; Home Diagnostics Inc. and Vertos Medical. Mr. Corbett has extensive capital market and governance experience from both public and private environments. Mr. Corbett holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Kansas.
Chief Commercial Officer
An accomplished global marketing and strategy leader whose proficiency at long-term planning has led to numerous successful product launches across the U.S, Europe and Asia Pacific, Mrs. Liberto brings more than 15 years of multifaceted global commercial experience developing, launching, managing, and optimizing healthcare portfolios with products that span therapeutic and aesthetic indications for international organizations including Allergan and Johnson & Johnson.
In her career, Mrs. Liberto has successfully launched more than a dozen products across diverse geographical markets. She has proven success in rapidly identifying business opportunities and formulating corresponding portfolio and brand strategies which drive revenue and global market share growth.
Erin holds an International MBA with a concentration in Global Marketing from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona and a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University in Canada.
Chief Technology Officer
With more than 25 years of experience in medical device design, development, clinical research and medical affairs, Mr. Quick joined AVITA Medical in 2010 and is the Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Quick has held leadership positions in the development of diagnostic instrumentation and active implantable therapeutics, including most recently with Boston Scientific Neuromodulation / Advanced Bionics where he led U.S. investigational device and post-market clinical research in the cochlear implant business.
Mr. Quick holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University.
With more than 20 years of legal and compliance experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, Ms. Shiroma has played an instrumental role in transitioning companies from clinical to commercial entities. Prior to joining AVITA Medical, she served in roles of increasing responsibility as Corporate Counsel, General Counsel, Vice President of Legal, Chief Privacy and Compliance Officer, and Chief Commercial Officer for Ascend Therapeutics, PDL BioPharma, and several Johnson & Johnson companies.
Acting Chief Financial Officer
A versatile financial leader with more than 20 years of experience in technology, high-tech manufacturing and entertainment industries, Mr. Ekins joined AVITA Medical in 2017 and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Finance. Over the course of his career, Mr. Ekins has demonstrated expertise across all aspects of management and operational accounting, inclusive of SEC and financial reporting, systems analysis and implementation, and team development. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Ekins served as the North American Controller for IXIA, a test, visibility, and security solutions provider, where he led all accounting operations, including the transition and successful integration into Keysight Technologies following the company’s acquisition. Previously, Mr. Ekins held accounting positions with The Walt Disney Company, Countrywide Financial Corporation, and 3D Systems, Inc. Mr. Ekins is a Certified Public Accountant and earned his Bachelor Science in Accounting from the University of Southern California.
Senior Vice President, Product Development and Program Management
A seasoned leader with more than 25 years of experience in the medical device industry across research and development, program management, IP, and total quality management, Dr. Doshi joined AVITA Medical in 2018 and is the Senior Vice President of Product Development and Program Management. Dr. Doshi spent nearly 18 years in various leadership roles at Siemens Healthineers where he and his team earned the Red Dot Product Design Award as well as the Frost & Sullivan New Product Innovation Award. Additionally, he was instrumental in over 30 global product launches during his tenure. Dr. Doshi also helped design and launch the Butterfly Networks iQ handheld ultrasound as well as the Hyperfine Swoop portable MRI scanner as part of his leadership role at 4Catalyzer, a startup incubator.
Dr. Doshi holds 14 patents and is an Adjunct Professor at the College of the Canyons in the Department of Physics. He has a Bachelor of Science in Cybernetics from the University of California, Los Angeles, a Master of Science in Medical Radiation Physics from the Rosalind Franklin University, and a Doctorate in Biomedical Physics from University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Doshi also holds an Executive Juris Doctorate in Law and Technology from Concord Law School and is a certified Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute.
Senior Vice President, Global Operations
An extensive and diverse history of management in the medical device and electronics industries, Mr. Fencil brings more than 30 years of operational experience as AVITA Medical’s Senior Vice President of Global Operations. Mr. Fencil joined AVITA Medical in 2012 and has been instrumental in the development of its medical device. Prior to AVITA Medical, Mr. Fencil spent nearly 10 years at the Alfred Mann Foundation, a technology incubator, where he managed development projects, quality system revisions, and operational departments. Prior to that, he held various roles with St. Jude Medical and Allergan. Mr. Fencil earned his Bachelor of Science in Polymer Science from Penn State University and his Master of Business Administration from California State University, Northridge.
Senior Vice President, Regulatory and Quality
A regulatory and quality assurance executive with expertise across medical device, diagnostic, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries, Mr. Lagerquist brings nearly 30 years of experience in his role as Senior Vice President of Regulatory and Quality. Mr. Lagerquist joined AVITA Medical in 2016 to lead regulatory affairs and quality assurance. Prior to AVITA Medical, Mr. Lagerquist has held leadership roles at Allergan, Philips Oral Healthcare, and Baxter BioScience. Mr. Lagerquist earned his Bachelor of Science in biology from Humboldt State University.
Vice President, Human Resources
With over 20 years of managerial experience in human resources and talent acquisition, Mr. Hall is responsible for all aspects of human resources as Vice President at AVITA Medical. Prior to joining AVITA Medical in 2019, he was the Head of Human Resources at Sonova Group, where he led U.S. and Canada recruiting, strategy, compensation, shared services, benefits, and business partnerships. Prior to that, he was a Director of Human Resources responsible for Director of Human Resources – Asia Pacific for Sonova Group managing 7 countries from Singapore. Mr. Hall received his Bachelors of Arts in business from the University of San Diego and his Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University.
